The food-scape in Islamabad has seen a sudden boom in the last few years as new eateries open up every month to add to the flavors of the capital. Theme restaurants are also a rage these days! One such food start-up, specializing in traditional Hunzai cuisine, was launched last month named Sea Buckthorn.
Bolo Jawan was invited to the opening of this exotic restaurant where who’s who of the city showed up and the likes of Irfan Ali Taj took to the stage to entertain the guests with traditional music.
We felt the need to introduce the Hunzai start-up to the world and thus, decided to cover the eatery in the 4th episode of the Pakistani Venture.
Sea Buckthorn’s menu offers Hunzai cuisine at its finest! From Chap Shoro and dumplings to Hunzai take on steaks, everything has a nutritious value to it because of the almond and apricot oil being used.
Mehnaz Parveen, the owner of the restaurant, told us why she chose a name as unique as Sea Buckthorn for the start-up and her inspiration behind the whole idea.
