Geo News Anchor Pronouncing Kitabcha As Kutta Bacha

Pakistan has close to 50 news channels(!) that provide a non-stop stream of news and commentary on current affairs. The need to produce endless content often leaves the teams at these channels over-worked and under-rehearsed.

A hilarious – albeit unfortunate – example of this went viral when Geo News anchorperson, Ali Aneeq confidently read out a story about a manual on mental health that was distributed among British soldiers to bring down the staggering suicide rate among the combatants.

The word, “Manual,” which literally means “Kitabcha,” in Urdu was twice mentioned in the news report and each time, Aneeq pronounced it as, “Kutta Bacha,” (i.e. dog child or puppy)!

Since Geo is among the biggest brand names in Pakistan’s media industry, Ali Aneeq’s blunder on live television was simultaneously seen by millions.

Needless to say, people are literally rolling on the floor laughing their lungs out after watching this viral video clip.

Not everyone who saw the clip is making fun of the news anchor. Ali Aneeq, it seems has a lot of well-wishers who are vehemently defending his mistake on social media.

While we’re dearly sorry about the jokes that are being made on Aneeq’s expense, we also want to apologize from him in advance for this reactions: 👇

Sorry, but Geo news anchor pronouncing “Kitabcha” as “Kutta Bacha” is literally the funniest thing we’ve seen all day!

Remember: Laugh and move on! There’s no need to tag Ali Aneeq and make him feel horrible about this blooper. Laughing is good, cyber-bullying IS NOT!
