Television is one realm where Pakistan has managed to create a strong fanbase not just inside the country but beyond. Humsafar, Zindagi Gulzar Hai, Udaari, Baaghi and Sammi are few of the many drama serials that were received with great love across the region but hopefully a new name will be added to the list soon. At least, that’s what we think after watching the OST and teasers of Romeo Weds Heer.

Marking a great comeback of the writer Dr. Muhammad Younis Butt who has given famous comic shows like Family Front and Hum Sab Umeed Se Hain to Pakistan, Romeo Weds Heer (RWH) is a second project of director Anjum Shehzad with the onscreen power couple Feroze Khan and Sana Javed. The actors were previously cast by the director in Khaani and people fell in love with the duo’s chemistry right there and then.

Slated to be aired in October, Romeo Weds Heer is a rom-com  produced by the 7th Sky Entertainment and the story plot revolves around the idea that what if Romeo fell in love with Heer instead of Juliet and vice versa! The cast also includes other seasoned artists like Ali Safina, Shafaat Ali, Saman Ansari and Faiza Ali.

If rooting for their favorite on-screen couple wasn’t enough, excitement of the audience was further piqued when the dance-able OST and utterly romantic teasers of Romeo Weds Heer were released last week. People were all hearts and couldn’t help but flood the internet with love!

Our take on the OST and teasers of Romeo Weds Heer is also no different. Aima Baig and Sahir Ali Bagga did complete justice to the peppy wedding song and Asim Azhar’s captivating voice in the background score of the teasers brings out the beautiful chemistry between the pair even more.

Although production of socially driven dramas is a feather in the cap of Pakistan’s television industry, a rom-com like Romeo Weds Heer certainly comes off as a fresh breath of air. The promos have definitely set the expectations too high and we sincerely hope that Romeo Weds Heer lives up to these expectations when the drama is finally aired next week.
