Hasan Minhaj’s Patriot Act abruptly came to an end after a two-year run.

The 34-year-old Minhaj took to Twitter bidding goodbye and expressing gratitude to his fans.

The award-winning talk show known for exploring modern cultural and political landscapes is now under fire after several women accused the show of being a toxic workplace.

Pakistani producer and writer, Nur Nasreen, who worked off-camera for some of the best episodes of the hit Netflix show took to Twitter voicing the ordeal she went through during her time on the sets.

While calling the show out for not practicing what it preached, Nur recalled being “humiliated and gaslit, targeted and ignored” during her time on the show.

She also added that the show was “necessary” and “important” but condemned the toxic treatment meted out to the employees.

After Nur Nasreen, other people have also come forward with their testimonies highlighting the issues they went through.

New York Times editor, Iva Dixit, also pointed out how many people who worked hard for the show’s success were treated dreadfully.

Extending her support towards the victims, producer of the show Amy Zhang regretted the show coming to an end before things could’ve been made right internally.

Many employees of the Netflix show have come forward ever since raising their voice against hostile behavior, especially with women of color by the management.

For a show widely celebrated for its progressive ethos, it is just heartbreaking to hear that it treated its employees with exactly the opposite.
