Scientists report that individuals who eat seafood ingest up to 11,000 tiny pieces of plastic every year! A research conducted by Plymouth University found that one-third of all fish caught in the UK contained plastic in its systems.

This and similar researches in the developed pockets of the world have led to calls for more in-depth studies to prevent the incidence of microplastic pollution found in the fish from making its way into the human body.
