Earlier today, Atif Aslam’s new song, Humein Pyar Hai Pakistan Se was launched from his Twitter handle.

The song, which is an ISPR production had been posted on the agency’s Youtube channel a day before its formal launch and within 24 hours it has garnered thousands of views and an avalanche of positive comments.

Clad in a shirwani, a dapper-looking Atif Aslam takes us on a journey that begins from the partition of the Indian sub-continent and concludes in present-day Pakistan. In line with ISPR’s theme for this year’s Defence Day, the song and its video pays tribute to the hundreds of thousands of Pakistanis, both civilians and uniformed officials, who have laid down their lives in the hope of securing the future for their compatriots.

In the last decade alone, Pakistan has lost over 60,000 citizens in terrorist attacks orchestrated by extremist outfits. Now that the country is once again experiencing a renewed sense of peace and security, it is absolutely important to remember and revere those brave souls – civilian or uniformed – who were taken away from us at the hands of terror.

Atif Aslam’s, Humein Pyar Hai Pakistan Se, is then a befitting tribute to our martyrs on Defence Day.
