The Over-efficient Ones- Types Of Students When It Comes To Meeting Deadlines

Rare species; these are the ones who actually look forward to teacher’s ultimatums and savor every minute of the experience. While for some of us it may feel like a trial period, for the over-efficients it is the best time of the season where they finally get to use their arsenal that includes highlighters, library card, binders, subscription to academic journals and what not. It’s like they were born to do this!

That being said, respecting deadlines is something we all should take care of and doing so simply reflects one’s dedication and shows that they mean business. Not to forget, completing the assignments before deadline also gives these students a window to get their work reviewed and improve the quality accordingly.  So to all those who are a member of this group, be proud of yourself!

It’s not that they don’t have time on them to complete their tasks. In fact, you will mostly find the procrastinators whining about all the deadlines that they have to meet and using it as an excuse to get an out from commitments. But when it comes down to actually getting work done, they follow the mantra, “why do it today when you can do it later!”

All this contributes to their life skills and prepares them better for the real world out there. Guess you never thought about it this way!

Nowhere near the over-efficients, the procrastinators do not accept them; these are the masterminds! Instead of thinking about the means through which they can meet the deadline, they prefer looking for ways to bog down the whole deadline system. Rebels as some would call them, masterminds leave no stone unturned in their effort to convince the teacher that ultimatums and deadlines are all a conspiracy of the capitalist world to keep us engaged elsewhere while they carry on with their dirty agendas.

Since, there are no rules in love and war and a student’s relationship with the teacher falls in either of the two categories (admit it! we all have had a crush on a teacher at some point in our lives), the masterminds would go to any extent to achieve their objectives and if everything fails they resort to the weapon of prayer. They can be titled the Sun Tzu of ditching deadlines but when it comes to their ability of making assignments their software always show, “Error 404, Not Found!” Having said that, history has given us many evidences to believe that such people usually grow up to become politicians in Global South and use the opportunity to avenge the revenge. Thus, all the teachers out there, beware of the masterminds!
