Pakistanis experienced another controversial weekend when, on Saturday, Dr. Aamir Liaquat Husain took to Twitter to not only resign from BOL TV but also make allegations against the channel. He claimed that BOL TV had not cleared his dues and that it was involved in unethical practices like lying, bribing, threatening and even maligning state institutions.
The journey has come to an end & not a friendly end. Now I am not part of #BOL. They owe me my dues. #KhudaHafizBOL

ہم نے کسی کو جہاز نہیں دیا
ہم نے ایک لینڈ کروزر تک نہیں دی
ہم نے سوائے جھوٹ کے کچھ نہیں بولا
آج اُسی جھوٹ کو خدا حافظ#KhudaHafizBOL— Aamir Liaquat Husain (@AamirLiaquat) November 18, 2017
The tweet was bound to spark a fight between the two, which then led to a heated series of comments – reason why we saw #KhudaHafizBOL trending.
While many availed this opportunity to add fuel to the fire, one sane voice proved that there is still hope for a better Pakistan where influential media figures recognize their responsibility towards the nation and the implications of their words and actions.

Who was it? Well, it was none other than our Pakistani superstar, Ali Zafar! Here is what he had to say about the whole chaos.
Dear @AamirLiaquat God has given you and many of us the opportunity to influence people to choose love, compassion, tolerance and empathy over anything. Let there be no judgment towards anyone ever. Only God has that right as He says. May peace be upon us all

We could not agree more! Celebrities of Aamir Liaquat’s stature possess enough power to impact the world view and behavior of the masses. Thus, an individual blessed with such a privilege and power should understand his/her responsibility and utilize it to spread love, compassion and tolerance rather than doing the contrary.
Thank you Ali Zafar! Your tweet was much needed!
