These Facebook Accounts & Groups Are Promoting Rape Culture Using Memes & What BS?!

While the country was still shaken by the motorway rape incident, seven more cases were reported just in Punjab leaving the citizens especially women appalled who then took to the streets to protest against the increasing instances of sexual violence.

And now netizens have brought attention to a Facebook group that is promoting rape culture by sharing provocative memes.

The group goes by the name “Lumber One Dark Portion V2” and has around 1.6k members.

Filmmaker Jami shared a screen recording of the posts that are all about trivializing rape, abuse and pedophilia and demanded immediate arrest of the people operating it.

It’s nauseating to think of the environment in which our boys are socialized and the values that they are brought-up with.

It’s equally sickening to realize that is a sizable audience that finds such appalling content “humorous.”

Mere suspension of this – or other similar accounts – operating from Pakistan is not enough. The admins must be tried under the Cyber Crime Act and punished accordingly for condoning and inciting sexual violence.

The group has been taken down after several reports but God knows how many other such groups exist that haven’t yet come to light.
