The excitement level in Pakistan is quite high right now as Prince William and Kate Middleton are in the country for the royal visit.
While people are raving about the fasion statements made by the Duchess on day I, there are of course those who have created a storm in a teacup.

The Duchess, who adorned four different dresses for various official engagements through the day won a lot of love for wearing Pakistani attire, i.e. shalwar kameez. Her husband, Prince William also jumped in and wore a sherwani on Tuesday night for the dinner reception at Pakistan Monument.
People in Pakistan adored Kate Middleton for her sense of style, terming her “graceful” and “elegant.”
But the discussion on Pakistan’s Internet was not just about how the royalty looked beautiful in our traditional dresses, but it soon turned into an unnecessary debate on the western dresses Pakistani women wear while abroad.
Many men on Twitter resorted to policing women on how they should dress up, with some even saying that only dupatta makes a woman look graceful.
The men policing women’s choice of clothing failed to notice that how their comparison was quite hypocritical.
If westerners can wear our traditional dresses while visiting Pakistan then by the same logic Pakistani women can also wear western clothes while abroad. After all, it’s all about respecting each others culture, no?
Sadly, a big no from most Pakistani men.
