Pakistani social media was abuzz on Monday with reports of frog meat being served at restaurants in Lahore.

References to the donkey-meat scandal were rife with many taking savage digs at Lahoris and the meat that they consume.
However, Pakistan can breathe easy now, that the story has been debunked!
Frogs? Lahore? Huh?
For those of you who might not be aware about the story involving a huge quantity of frogs found in a rickshaw in Lahore, here’s a quick gist!
Police officers in Lahore detained a rickshaw-wala on Monday for possessing 185kgs of dead frogs in his vehicle.
The officers had never intercepted someone with dead frogs before – and that too 185kgs of them! – so, they felt the need to understand what was going on.
The rickshaw driver was detained for two hours during which the poor man explained that he was delivering frogs to a local laboratory that in turn supplies them to various medical universities. Dead frogs are often used by medical students to practice dissection and suturing.
And so, there you have it folks! As it turns out it was a case of much-ado-for-nothing at all!
