Skipper Babar Azam most definitely is being blamed for allegedly backing his friends in the national team even though well before the start of the world cup it was apparent that most of them were seriously out-of-form. His batting performance too seems to have gone down owing to the pressure of captaincy and his field setting throughout the event were questionable. Hence, it is no wonder that the 29-year-old is likely to lose at least white ball captaincy following the ICC event.

Shadab Khan was in horrific form prior to the start of the world cup and unfortunately for him, his performance during the ODI world cup once more was more nothing home to talk about. He is likely to lose both the vice-captaincy and his place in the playing XI.
