It is a company that makes pollution-free aero-engines with the aim to help curb global warming. Sarah started the company with her father, Masood Latif Qureshi, who is also a scientist and a physicist.

Her intervention is a marvel in the aerospace industry because of its pressing need as global warming and climate change has become an issue of concern worldwide.

Qureshi said that the aviation industry is now redesigning its technology. Now it is taking into consideration the aircraft’s environmental compatibility. It earlier focused more on fuel-saving and making profits for the airline.

“Water is a combustion by-product in any kind of fuel burn, which is released as a vapor. When flying at high-altitudes, water when released as a vapor, freezes or condenses into a cloud, that causes global warming,” explained Dr. Qureshi.

Her company, hence, makes contrail-free aero engines, which is a device that converts condensed water vapor into liquid water. This device carries the liquid water in the aircraft and releases it moments before landing.

An environmentalist at heart, Dr. Sarah Qureshi has been working on this project since 2018. It is an effort to reduce the negative impact of commercial airplanes on Earth that contribute to global warming.

The US Embassy in Islamabad also celebrated her achievements on International day of Women in Science.
