Pakistan are almost certain to open the innings with skipper Babar Azam and wicket-keeper batsman Mohd. Rizwan once more while the in-form Fakhar Zaman is expected to bat at the all important number three position.

Middle-order

Following the warm-up games it is evident that the country’s think-tank plans to include senior batsmen Mohd. Hafeez and Shoaib Malik as well as Asif Ali in the middle-order. Form of Mohd. Hafeez nevertheless, remains to be a concern for the men in green.

All-Rounders

Unless there is an injury concern, Imad Wasim and Shadab Khan will be Pakistan’s all-rounders during the contest. Both of them are expected to bat in the lower-order as well as shoulder the responsibility of leading the spin department.

Fast Bowlers

Shaheen Afridi, Hasan Ali and Haris Rauf are expected to lead Pakistan’s fast bowling department during the game. Hasan Ali will also be expected to provide Pakistan with some quick runs during the last few overs of the game i.e. if there is a need for it. Still, the form of both Hasan and Haris particularly, during the death overs has been a concern and the team’s management then would hope that both of them turn things around against the arch-rivals.
