The last couple of years have been an exciting time for films and filmmakers in Pakistan. With an influx of new filmmakers trying their luck with the 70 mm the local film industry is evolving rapidly.

Fresh blood means fresh ideas and the introduction of new genres that were previously unexplored in mainstream Lollywood. For instance only five years ago, the animation industry in Pakistan was restricted to advertisement campaigns. However, after a successful stint on television with beloved shows like Burqa Avenger, animation artists in the country are turning towards cinema. The success story of 3 Bahadur, that released in 2015 has certainly helped encourage this trend.

The most recent entry in the realm of Pakistani animation comes with The Glassworker produced by Mano Animation Studios, which is a brainchild of Usman Riaz.

The animated film that has been wholly financed through a crowd funding campaign on Kickstarter has been warmly received by Pakistanis.
