Najam Sethi, the Management Committee chairman PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board), during a press conference yesterday revealed that he has asked the Afghan board to instruct its players to improve their on field behavior. He also backed Babar Azam to lead Pakistan across formats.

Najam Sethi Asks Afghan Board To Instruct Its Players To Behave
While referring to recent on and off the field ugly incidents during the #PakvsAfg international matches Cricket Pakistan reported Najam as saying, “I had a chat with Afghanistan officials in Dubai about crowd control and their players’ behavior. What is the guarantee regarding managing your fans and players, because past experiences haven’t been good. We told Afghanistan Board to control their players. Winning and losing is part of the game. We have experience with regards to winning and losing, so we can control our emotions, but they are new [to international cricket], so they need to keep their players in check.”

Backs Babar Azam
While backing Babar Azam, Najam further said, “There is no threat. Our established skipper Babar will remain the captain of our national squad until he himself decides to quit. It is totally his call. I respect Babar a lot, he is our top star. I am very happy that he supported our decision to try youngsters against Afghanistan.”

Senior Players Rested, Squad For The #PakvsAfg Series Announced
Najam also revealed that after consultations the board has decided to rest Babar Azam, Mohd. Rizwan, Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf and Shaheen Afridi for the series against Afghanistan in UAE. Chief selector, Haroon Rasheed who was sitting alongside the chairman later announced the touring party that comprises of the following players.
