Multan Sultans And Lahore Qalandars Shock Opponents

During the first encounter yesterday i.e. between Multan Sultans and Karachi Kings, batting first the Sultans scored 15-20 runs more than the par total. Sultans’ bowling has clearly looked weak through out the tournament however, by posting a healthy total on the scoreboard, the franchise was able to topple the defending champions despite the limitation.

Qalandars on the other hand, began poorly yesterday night and while batting first were 4 for 25 after 7.3 overs. Nevertheless, their lower order showed plenty of determination to reach a commendable total of 170 runs. Later, spinner Rashid Khan claimed five wickets to ensure a 10 run victory over former title holders, Peshawar Zalmi.

Gladiators Must Learn And Win The #IUvQG Contest Tonight

Gladiators are placed at the bottom of the points table and hence, cannot afford another bad game. The franchise then must learn from the Sultans and Qalandars. For a start, the Sarfraz led team needs to be ready to post or chase a big total to provide cover to their bowling line that like Sultans too hasn’t been in top form. Also, the faster men must use change of pace as a weapon against Islamabad United tonight. Finally, the Gladiators must give confidence to their spinners in the conditions that are conducive to spin bowling.
