Why Islamabad Didn’t Win The #IUvLQ Game & What Sultans and Zalmi Must Learn Before Entering the #KKvMS and #LQvPZ Contests
The Islamabad United pretty much threw away the game in the last over. Skipper, Shadab Khan should have shown more courage and bowled the final six deliveries instead of giving the ball to a part time bowler like Hussain Talat. Also, the United didn’t build enough partnerships and there were too many rash shots played during their innings.
The boys from the Sultans and Zalmi camp then must learn from yesterday’s game and ensure that their batsmen play in a manner where they look to build partnerships because any thing between 140-160 should be compatible in the UAE conditions.
Also, skippers from both sides must rely on spinners as there is plenty of aid for them. Also, the fast bowlers must use change of pace as a weapon otherwise, they might not be able to fetch the desired results.
It is only natural that after yesterday’s victory the Lahore Qalandars will come out very confident against Peshawar Zalmi who will be playing for the first time in UAE conditions during the ongoing season. Zalmi then will have to be on their toes to ensure a good game.
Multan Sultans and Karachi Kings too will play their first games of the tournament i.e. following resumption. Kings have won 3 put of the 5 games that they have played so far and are currently placed at the number 2 position in the points table (i.e. just behind table toppers Lahore Qalandars).
Sultans on the other hand have only won a single game after competing in 5 matches and so, are placed at the number 5 position on the points table (i.e. just ahead of the bottom ranked Quetta Gladiators). The Rizwan led camp then must show improvement from the word go otherwise, it is unlikely that they will make it to the next round.
