Babar Azam Defeats Shaheen Afridi In The KK vs LQ Contest

The game was always supposed to be a real contest between Pakistan’s best batsman i.e. Babar Azam and the country’s top bowler across formats i.e. Shaheen Afridi. Babar to his credit won the challenge quite effortlessly and that too on a wicket that offered variable bounce. The national team’s skipper then was without a shadow of doubt the difference between the two sides.

A Better Team Effort

Karachi Kings presented a much better team effort than the Lahore Qalandars. We all know that their premier batsman i.e. Babar Azam played a massive role in the victory. Still, there were other important contributions in the game from players like Arshad Iqbal, Umaid Asif, Waqas Mahmood and CAK Walton that allowed them to sail through easily.

For Lahore Qalandars on the other hand stars cricketers representing the franchise like Mohd. Hafeez, Shaheen Afridi, David Wiese, Ben Dunk, Tamim Iqbal and Fakhar Zaman failed when it mattered the most.

The Difference Of Captaincy

The Kings skipper i.e. Imad Wasim has years of international exposure behind him while the Qalandars’ skipper i.e. Sohail Akhtar hasn’t played international cricket at all. Hence, the difference was obvious. Imad then looked much more confident and assured while leading the proceedings. Still, let’s not forget that to Akhtar’s credit no other captain leading the franchise has done as well as he has.
