As Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings prepare for the final of PSL 5 (or the fifth edition of Pakistan Super League), here is a look at three duals that should interest every fan in the country.

Babar Azam vs Shaheen Afridi Has To Be The Biggest Battle During The Final Of PSL 5

The battle between Pakistan’s best batsman i.e. Babar Azam and Pakistan’s best bowler across formats i.e. Shaheen Afridi is one definitely to watch out for. Karachi Kings (KK) bank heavily on Babar and hence, can ill-afford to lose him early. Lahore Qalandars on the other hand would desperately want Afridi to get them the prize wicket of the Pakistani skipper when the ball is still new and swinging. The game then promises to produce a very very interesting contest between the two international stars.

Mohd. Amir vs Lahore’s Power-Hitters

Lahore Qalandars have some big power hitters in their dug-out which includes Fakhar Zaman, Tamim Iqbal, David Wiese, Ben Dunk and Samit Patel.

Mohd. Amir on the other hand has been discarded by the Pakistani selectors and hence, the left-arm fast medium needs to perform big in order to reclaim his lost position. He has always proven himself to be a big match player and the final then is an ideal time for him to show case his talent once more and prove to the world that he is not a spent force yet!

Wasim Akram vs Aaqib Javed

Leading the support staff during the all important game for Karachi Kings will be Wasim Akram while Aaqib Javed will be doing the same for the Lahore Qalandars. Both are known rivals on and off the field.

Aaqib Javed was part of the group that revolted against Wasim Akram when he was still the captain of the Pakistan cricket team during the year 1993. Later he also accused the left-arm quick of match-fixing and destroying his international career.

The grand finale then will be a yet another face-off between the two and one where emotions are expected to run high!
