#PSL8 will come to an end over the coming weekend. However, there was plenty to learn from this year’s tournament and so, here is a look at 3 things that you haven’t probably thought about.

PSL Not The Bowler’s Tournament Anymore
Ever since PSL has moved out of UAE, it’s just not the bowler’s league anymore. Wickets in Pakistan have been flat and hence, we have seen teams compiling huge totals day in and day out. Still, it would be wonderful if the PCB tries to balance the competition between bat and ball during the next season so that the annual tournament does not become a run of a mill thing.

New Batters Emerge During #PSL8
Commentators and pundits were of the opinion that Pakistan will eventually find new batters who are capable of adapting to modern requirements of the game after four or five seasons of PSL. It seems like it has taken a little longer but with the emergence of Azam Khan, Mohd. Haris, Tayyab Tahir and Saim Ayub the league has finally started producing the kind of batters Pakistan desperately needs at the international level.

Expect Huge Changes Next Year
Quetta Gladiators and Karachi Kings have had another bad season. Moreover, Islamabad United too were unable to end their season among the top three sides of #PSL2023. Therefore, we can expect at least three franchises to make big and difficult decisions prior to the start of the next season. Moreover, PCB also plans to add another franchise or two because of which the format of the next edition might as well be different from what we’ve seen during the previous editions.
