Lately, Pakistan has been seeing an influx of women belonging to minority groups in the mainstream politics of the country. It was just last year that Krishna Kumari became the first Hindu woman and Tanzeela Qambrani, the first Sheedi politician to be elected as members of Sindh Assembly. Continuing the thread, another name has emerged recently. We’re talking about Suman Bodani!
Here are the four things that you must know about the first female Hindu civil judge of Pakistan!
1. Suman Bodani hails from a small town named Shahdadkot in rural Sindh!

2. She had to move to Hyderabad and then Karachi to get her law degree.
3. Suman Bodani wants to work for a cause as noble as providing free legal assistance to the poor.

4. Despite all these achievements, Suman and her family have been at the receiving end of immense pressure from their community where the norms do not allow women to be a part of the field of law.
That said, Ms. Bodani continues to follow her dreams and in that effort remains an inspirational figure for young girls belonging to minority groups.
With women like Suman Bodani, Krishna Kumari and Tanzeela Qambrani making the politics of Pakistan more diverse by the day, we hope to see more of such faces representing Pakistan in the future.
