Former Pakistani fast-bowler turned commentator and YouTuber, Shoaib Akhtar, has appealed to the masses to follow the standard operating procedures (SOPs) to defend themselves against COVID.

He’s urged Pakistanis to be very careful amid this COVID spike, maintain a safe distance, and wear a mask. It’s a simple request, he added.
Taking to his official Instagram account, Shoaib Akhtar wrote in Urdu,
He even chose a fitting image to post along with the appeal.
Almost two weeks earlier, the Rawalpindi Express had reminded the BBCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) and PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) to reconsider restarting PSL and IPL.
Taking the COVID situation in India and Pakistan into consideration, Shoaib Akhtar said “all resources should go towards helping people in these devastating times.”
Now that the IPL is canceled, the fast-bowler tweeted that he saw it coming. He even mentioned that he’d earlier suggested the Indian Cricket Board to reassess its decision.
