Shahid Afridi Indirectly Says That Mohd. Hafeez Was Forced To Retire
Former skipper Shahid Afridi while expressing his opinion after Mohd. Hafeez announced his retirement said, “I was listening to his [Hafeez] statement and it was clear from his body language that he wanted to play more cricket for Pakistan rather than leaving early. I always talk about communication gap between the PCB and players and I have a strong feeling that the same was the case with Hafeez. Although, it was good to see that he didn’t turn that into a major issue. I would like to congratulate Hafeez, his family and parents. Hafeez had an outstanding career and he gave many match-winning performances.”

Rashid Latif Disagrees
On the other hand Rashid Latif had a different view on the issue and so the 53 year old said, “Body language reveals everything. If you look at Hafeez’s press conference and the way he spoke, it was clear that it was his decision to retire. He was not doing that under pressure. This [mutual understanding] was a good gesture by the PCB and Hafeez. They were always considered as tracks which run side-by-side but will never meet. However, in the end they did meet.”
