Public Outraged Over The Lack Of COVID-19 SOPs At The Launch Of Maulana Tariq Jameel Clothing Brand

Well-known religious scholar Maulana Tariq Jameel – MTJ launched his own clothing brand on Saturday in Karachi. The inauguration event was held in Karachi’s Defence Area.

Video clips and pictures circulating on social media show how the scholar offered dua at the launch ceremony and the whole crowd stood in unison as the national anthem played in the background.

Other than Maulana Tariq Jameel, several notable personalities like Waseem Badami and Senator Faisal Vawda also graced the occasion.

At the brand launch, MTJ discussed that his only purpose to launch a clothing brand is to find an alternate source of income to run his madrassahs that are currently running on charity/Zakat.

However, as soon as the video footage from the launch made rounds on social media, the general public was outraged to see how no one at the event was following the COVID-19 SOPS.

They were rather worried to see a huge crowd violating the COVID-19 SOPs.

“Can someone please explain to me why they’re not social distancing? And why no one is wearing their mask?” wrote a user.

Some of them pointed out how Pakistan is battling with the third wave of the deadly virus, but no one at the event seems concerned about it.

Others urged them to wear a mask and be wary of the coronavirus.

Meanwhile, there were some who called out the authorities to take action against the SOP violators.
