Peshawar Zalmi has decided to part ways with veteran Kamran Akmal during the #PSL2023 season of the tournament. The former Pakistan cricketer who is among the most successful players in the history of PSL, broke the news after it was communicated to him via the head coach of the franchise.

Kamran Akmal To Play For A Different Franchise During #PSL2023
While explaining that he won’t be playing for the Peshawar Zalmi anymore the 40 year old said, “Goodbyes are always hard. It has been a wonderful 7 years journey with PeshawarZalmi.”

In a You Tube video the wicket-keeper batter while announcing his availability for the next season of PSL further said, “I am not part of Peshawar Zalmi anymore. Head Coach Darren Sammy informed me that Peshawar Zalmi will not retain me for PSL 8. I will be available for selection in the draft of PSL 8 now, though. Let’s see which franchise picks me.”

It is worth mentioning here that Kamran Akmal last played for Pakistan during the year 2017. Ever since he has remained discarded and has often criticized Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for not selecting him. Moreover, a demotion in category last year made way for a massive reaction from him. However, later he agreed to play the tournament.
