All-rounder Imad Wasim and middle-order batsman Babar Azam were stong candidates to replace Sarfraz Ahmed at the conclusion of the ICC world cup, 2019. However, Imad’s poor fitness and Babar’s lack of experience has apparently forced the bosses at PCB to give it a second thought. Hence, the board is likely to stick with Sarfraz for the time being and announce a vice-captain alongside.
