Reports in mainstream media suggest that Mohd. Wasim led selection committee has been sacked by Najam Sethi who is the new head of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Shahid Afridi who is also part of the new set-up on the other hand has thanked Prime Minister, Shahbaz Sharif for the opportunity.

Mohd. Wasim Removed As PCB’s Chairman, Selection Committee
Reports in media suggest that Wasim who had been leading Pakistan’s selection committee for nearly two years has been sacked by the Najam Sethi led setup. It is worth mentioning here that Pakistan recently lost home series to England 3-nil. The whitewash by an English side was a first for Pakistan at home. The debacle then initially resulted in removal of Ramiz Raja as the board’s chairman and now it seems Wasim too will have to pay the price for the Babar Azam led side’s poor show.

Shahid Afridi Thanks PM
Speaking to a news channel former captain Shahid Afridi who is also part of the new set-up said, “I am really thankful to PM Shehbaz Sharif for nominating me to the committee. I have talked to Najam Sethi twice since morning. I told him about my schedule which is tough due to my welfare work and family but I am available to them anytime, especially for working at the grass root level.”
