Mickey Arthur had joined the green shirts as the team’s cricket director earlier this year on the insistence of the then chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Najam Sethi. Najam however, unexpectedly had to give up his position in favor of Zaka Ashraf who soon after taking over handed Misbah-ul-Haq (who had previously played a part in Mickey’s removal as Pakistan’s head coach) the power to manage cricketing affairs of the board.
