It is no secret that Imran Khan and Chairman PCB, Najam Sethi share an extremely poor working relationship. Therefore, there is little or no probability of Sethi being allowed to complete his tenure in Naya Pakistan.

Expect no trouble if Sethi decides to resign without putting up a show. However, things are likely to get very dirty just in case there is resistance from his end. Sethi has been elected through a certain procedure and his removal can not only make way for violation of the constitution but also trigger an unfavorable response from the supreme body of the sport International Cricket Council (ICC) that does not encourage governments interfering in matters of any given cricket board. Nevertheless, PTI’s argument that Sethi was appointed on political grounds and that it shouldn’t have been that way too cannot be ignored without giving it a thought.

So, for now it is a wait and see kind of situation with the victorious PTI likely to have the last laugh!

Najam Sethi had given Pakistan’s foreign coach, Mickey Arthur complete freedom in a lot of matters and therefore, Mickey is likely to expect the same level of co-operation from anyone else who takes over the proceedings.

A lack of support from the new chairman, that is if that happens, will most definitely force Mickey to give it a second thought and may even result in him giving up the all-important post before the next world cup.
