Saim Ayub and Fakhar Zaman are likely to open the innings — both have shown that they are better suited to the ODI format than the shorter T20 format, where the pace of scoring and different demands sometimes make things tougher. At number three, Babar Azam will anchor the innings, bringing experience and consistency. Following at number four is likely Mohd. Rizwan (also wicket-keeper), who offers stability and good strike rotation. Number five could be Salman Ali Agha, who can accelerate when needed and build partnerships in the middle overs. The sixth spot is a bit up in the air — it might go to Hasan Nawaz or Hussain Talat, depending on who is in better form.

Pakistan are likely to include two all-rounders: Mohd. Nawaz as a spin-bowling all-rounder who can contribute in the middle overs with his  left-arm spin variation, and Faheem Ashraf as a pace or medium-fast bowling all-rounder who can chip in with useful lower-order batting and overs when needed.

The pace attack is expected to be spearheaded by captain Shaheen Shah Afridi, with either Naseem Shah or Wasim Jr. alongside him to provide strong new and old ball pace options. In the spin department, Abrar Ahmed is likely to lead the spin bowling, using his leg-spin to challenge the opposition through the middle overs and possibly the later overs as well.
