Karachi, like many other parts of the country is experiencing a flood-ike situation.

The only difference between Karachi and the rest of the country, however is that while other regions have experienced flash floods after heavy rainfall over an extended period of time, life in Karachi has come to a standstill after a moderate amount of rain over two days.

There is absolutely nothing new about Karachi’s rain woes. Despite decades worth of uproar, Karachi does not, to date, have a sewerage system that can effectively drain away rain water.

To top that, in this time and age, the recent spell of monsoon rains left a major part of the city without electricity.

While the entire government machinery seems unable to efficiently address the hardships that Karachi wale are facing because of the downpour, the citizens, it seems, have decided to make the most of their situation by posting hilarious memes using the hashtag #KarachiRains.

The Bhutto clan and the “Jiye Bhutto” rhetoric is a recurring theme in many of the #KarachiRains memes.
