Islamabad United are all set to receive a boost ahead of the #IUvPZ play-off as skipper Shadab Khan and upper-order batter Alex Hales are likely to be available to play for them today. Hales couldn’t have participated had it not been for a revision in PCB’s health and safety protocols.
PCB Revises Health and Safety Protocols
While revising its health and safety protocols PCB has reduced the isolation period for those who are asymptomatic from seven to five days. Nevertheless, a negative rapid antigen test (RAT) will be required to exit isolation. Moreover, teams can now pick players and ask them to play on the day of their arrival. Still, the concerned player will have to stay apart from other members of the team to whatever extent possible. This means that they will not have access to the team’s dressing room and will have to stay in a separate area of the hotel. They will also travel in a separate car to the stadium.
Shadab Fit After Injury, Change In Protocols Allows Alex Hales To Return
Revision in health and safety protocols has allowed Alex Hales to return to his franchise. The upper-order batsman had earlier decided to exit the tournament citing bubble fatigue. Skipper Shadab Khan who had picked up an injury is rumored to be fit for the play-off against Peshawar Zalmi. Both Hales and Shadab were in terrific form in the first half of the tournament and so, their return is definitely good news for the franchise.
