Media reports suggest that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is now mulling the option to appoint separate captains and support staff members for the longer and shorter versions of the game. So, here is a look at why PCB might opt for different captains and coaches to lead Pakistan’s dressing room in both Test and limited overs cricket.

ICC World Test Championship

ICC is all set to commence ICC World Test Championship from the coming month. PCB then doesn’t want to take the championship lightly. The board wants an improved show from the men in green. Hence, there is every possibility that Pakistan might see a different captain and a different coach for the format.

Pakistan is the number one T20 team in the world. Sarfraz, Mickey combination has worked well for them over the years. With ICC World T20 only one year away, PCB doesn’t want to introduce a sudden change in the dressing room for the format in which the green shirts have done well.
