On Monday, Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood issued a clarification that schools and educational institutions across Pakistan are not closing despite a surge in coronavirus cases across the country.

He said that the authorities will continue to closely monitor the situation but as of now there is no truth in the news that schools will be closed again in Pakistan.

Earlier, Punjab Education Minister Murad Raas also took to social media to put an end to the speculations doing rounds regarding the closure of schools as the coronavirus cases are on the rise again.

The Higher Education Commission also dismissed a fake document circulating online and cleared that “each institution will decide to operate or close as per its specific situation.”
