Threat Of A Nuclear War

Threat of using nuclear weapons becomes real the moment a full scale war begins between the two arch-rivals. It is then, important for citizens on both sides of the border to understand that use of nuclear weapons from either side has the potential of leading towards the end of the human civilization.

Therefore,  it is a definite suicide that will have consequences, not just for the two countries but for the entire planet. Hence, there is no logical reason why tension between the two opponents should result in an unprecedented catastrophe.

Damage Beyond Control

Both countries have a long way to go before their economies establish in a desirable manner. Moreover, both sides still have scores of people living under the poverty line and hence, even a conventional war will only make things worse and result in wasting decades of handwork.

Neither party is in a position to guarantee success to achieve its objectives through a war. However, undesirable results owing to confrontation are all but assured.

Thus, for the sake of future generations of South Asia in particular, it is important for general public on both sides of the border to create a demand for peace and a resolution of core issues through dialogue.
