The first ODI between Pakistan and Afghanistan is scheduled to be played today and so, here is a look at three cricketers that Pakistan are likely to try during the three-match One Day International series that is being played in Sri Lanka.

Usama Mir
The next world cup is in India where spinners generally come in handy. Hence, Pakistan are likely to allow Usama Mir at least a couple of games during the series to explore the idea of playing of two leg-spinners together. Mir therefore, is also likely to play the first ODI of the rubber ahead of Nawaz.

Saud Shakeel Against Afghanistan
Saud Shakeel can be Pakistan’s trump card during the Asia and world cup i.e. if he is able to show form during the ODIs. It is worth mentioning here the fact that he owns very good stats in Test cricket and during his short career he has played spinners really well in all sorts of conditions.

Mohd. Haris
Haris certainly has the ability to hit the ball big. Pakistan does need a batter like him who is capable of batting with a good strike rate. Therefore, the likelihood of him playing a few matches against Afghanistan is pretty decent. Still, if given the opportunity, the wicket-keeper batter must perform otherwise, Sarafarz Ahmed might as well be picked ahead of him for the #ICCODIWC2023.
