Pakistani opening batsman Sharjeel Khan’s ban ends with in the next few weeks. Nevertheless, despite there being a need for a batsman like him in the playing eleven Pakistan Cricket Board can’t have him on board straight away. So, here is a look at why as of now, PCB can’t select Sharjeel Khan even after his ban ends next month.

Needs To Confess Publicly
Sharjeel Khan despite being convicted is yet to admit his crime. Hence, as per the laws there is no way PCB can allow him a comeback unless he eventually, agrees to the corruption charges.

Has To Go Through The Rehab Program
As per the law he will also have to request PCB to induct him in their rehab program and it is only after completing the entire procedure that he will become eligible again to play. However, as per media reports he is yet to make an effort in this regard.

Finally, regardless of who makes it to the new selection committee; Sharjeel Khan will have to play and impress during the domestic season in order to register a strong case for his comeback. Hence, it is understood that PCB can’t select Sharjeel Khan even after his ban ends.
