Less than 12 months ago Pakistan was a bottom ranked team in the One Day International (ODI) rankings of the International Cricket Council (ICC). However, within a few months not only has Pakistan’s ranking improved considerably but they have also won back to back games against top teams.

Here is a look at the three players who have played a massive role in Pakistan’s resurgence.
Babar Azam
Babar Azam without a shadow of doubt has been the main stay of Pakistani batting lineup. In the last 12 months he has scored big against all opponents and in all sorts of conditions.
His purple patch in the ODIs has allowed the men in green to bounce back and claim victory from the jaws of defeat.
Hassan Ali
Hassan Ali within a year of his debut has become a top ranked bowler in the ICC rankings.

His form has been a major contributor in Pakistan’s success.His ability to strike in the middle overs has allowed the green shirts to restrict oppositions within a manageable total.
Sarfaraz Ahmed
Sarfaraz Ahmed might not have contributed consistently with the bat during the last few games. However, it is only after he took over the captaincy that Pakistan began to improve dramatically.
Despite making a few glaring mistakes early in his captaincy, Sarfaraz Ahmed seems to have settled well by now.
