1. Faheem and Shadab Show Potential to be Pakistan’s New All-Rounders
Following Pakistan’s rather familiar batting collapse, Shadab Khan and Faheem Ashraf scored more than useful half centuries to rescue the men in green against a side that was making its Test debut. Later, on the next day the two were among wickets as well. Hence, both have finally shown potential to become Pakistan’s new all-rounders which is one of the most crucial talking points from Pakistan’s performance against Ireland.

2. Déjà vu in the Slip Cordon
Mohd. Amir ever since making his Test comeback in 2016 has had over a dozen catches dropped of him. The ongoing Test then presented a Déjà vu scenario as a couple more were put down of his bowling in the slip cordon on the third day of Test.

Babar Azam is easily the best One Day International (ODI) batsman that Pakistan have at the moment. However, he is yet to convert his limited overs form to the longest version of the game. His technique and temperament were once again found wanting as he was dismissed for another low score in the first innings of the ongoing Test.
With Saad Ali and Usman Salahuddin in the squad and with selectors under pressure to pick Fawad Alam for the Tests, Babar hence, might as well be a bad innings away from losing his Test spot.
