Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Minister, Taimur Khan Jhagra, has come under fire for giving a really unreasonable excuse for violating COVID-19 SOPs at an iftar party on Tuesday.

Last night, a photo of the KP health minister went viral on social media where he was spotted sans mask at an iftar party. Reports suggest that there were at least 50 people there at the party.

The backlash against him is a little too severe since Jhagra has been really active on social media preaching about coronavirus SOPs and ways to stay safe during the pandemic.

What has made matters worse for him is his series of tweets that he shared on Twitter after he was called out for his irresponsible behavior amid a COVID surge in Pakistan.

Taimur Jhagra reasoned instead of apologizing that he was told there would be a limited gathering at the iftar party, adding that he was neither aware of the number of people at the gathering nor the location.

Ever since he made that comment, the Pakistani Twittersphere has erupted with sarcasm and one-liners to Jhagra’s non-apology tweets.

People are literally baffled by his excuse. They cannot comprehend the fact that someone reached a place without even knowing its location; how?

They’re just roasting him left, right and center.

The sarcasm is flowing, no holds barred.

Since he asked for it, people are suggesting to him ways he could have avoided the gathering.

Some personal attacks were made.

In a recent development, a first information report (FIR) has been registered against the minister and owner and manager of a restaurant in Peshawar, where the Iftar was held.
