Shoaib Malik has asked #BabarAzam to give up captaincy. The former captain believes that such a move will allow Babar to better deliver as a batter. 
Babar is Pakistan’s skipper across formats however, his status as the country’s skipper is in danger following a poor home season during which the green shirts failed to deliver as per expectations while playing against formidable opponents like Australia, England and New Zealand.

Malik while expressing his views on Geo News Program, “Score” said, “Babar Azam is a great batter but we do injustice by putting his leadership qualities and batting ability on the same scale. Giving up captaincy will help Babar Azam make more records on an international level as the pressure on him will be limited to his batting.”

It is worth mentioning here that Malik lost his place in Pakistan cricket team after the 2021 T20 world cup. The emergence of new cricketers like Mohd. Haris, Saim Ayub and because of good form of senior cricketers like Iftikhar Ahmed it seems highly unlikely that Malik will be able to revive his international career anytime soon.
