Exciting times ahead for Pakistan’s digital media scene as RINSTRA is all set to launch on Wednesday, 2nd December.
RINSTRA is “Pakistan’s first short-form digital media platform for on-demand streaming and for creation of user generated original content.”
With 76 million internet users, 37 million active social media users, and 2.4 million users added each year in Pakistan, our country still doesn’t have a single online media platform.
This certainly looks promising as RINSTRA is launching with the purpose to encourage independent filmmakers and artists to create, share and monetize their art on the platform.
According to reports, RINSTRA will be an avenue for local artists, content creators and storytellers to showcase their talents to international and national markets.
You can sign up on their official website to see trailers and snippets of some of their upcoming projects.
Mehreen Jabbar’s web-series ‘Wehem’ is slated to be released this month. By the looks of it, the series looks like a suspense drama. It looks trailer is highly entertaining.

RINSTRA is the need of the hour in these times. Previous few years brought some good news for Pakistan film industry, but with the arrival of pandemic, cinemas, theatres and film shoots came to a halt. Now that Pakistan will have its own digital media platform, access to new content will be easier and the reach will inevitably increase too.
