While expressing his views on a local television talk show Ramiz Raja praised Umar Akmal but the former chairman wasn’t sure if the 32 year old can still contribute in national colors. It is worth mentioning here that Ramiz has often criticized Umar in the past for one reason or the other.

Ramiz Raja Calls Umar Akmal A “Match-winner”
Ramiz Raja while commenting on Umar Akmal said, “Umar Akmal’s story is a literal definition of great talent but wasted talent. However, there is a lesson for all the players. You have to be disciplined and must keep your mouth shut. Otherwise, there is a good probability that you will be at the receiving end.”

“He was one of my favorite players when he started cricket. We all saw a glimpse of what he is capable of doing today. He destroyed Islamabad United’s quality bowling attack. I am not sure what the future holds for him. I can’t say if he will be able to become an asset for us again. But in today’s date, there is no bigger match-winner at the number 6 and 7 position than Umar Akmal in Pakistan. There have been fitness issues with him and there is a discipline problem as well. He needs to control his quarreling attitude.”
