Opener #AbdullahShafique defied odds to score a brilliant century during the fourth innings of the match and so, his 160 runs allowed the 22 year old to enter record books. He was able to secure the following records.

Shafique became the first batter in the world to bat for over 500 minutes in a successful fourth-innings run chase.

Shafique is now the only batter in the world to bat for over 300 balls in fourth-innings on multiple occasions before turning 23.

This was also the highest score by a batter in a successful fourth-innings run chase before turning 23.

Shafique now also has the most runs that a Pakistani batter has ever managed to score after the first six Test matches.

He now also holds the best average among Pakistan openers who have played a minimum of 10 innings.Â
