Punjab Police Launches Women Safety App For Improved Security

The Punjab police has launched a women safety app for improved security measures in the province.

In case of emergency, women will be able to get help from any Emergency Helpline in just one click including 15, Rescue 1122, Highway Police, Motorway Police.

On Sunday, Inspector General of Police Inam Ghani said that the application has been developed with the effective use of information technology and besides Punjab Police, important agencies like Rescue, Motorway Police, and Punjab Highway Patrol had also been included so that the process of protection of women could be improved and women can reach out to rescue helplines without any difficulty.

Mr Ghani requested all women to download the Punjab women safety app and get themselves registered.

The department has also released an awareness video on how to download and use the application so that women belonging to all fields of life can start using it without any difficulty.

He further added that Punjab Police were on high alert for prevention of crimes against women and children and steps would be taken on priority basis to prevent such crimes.
