List Of 6 Ways In Which Modi Has Completely Mishandled The Pulwama Attack

After the tragic Pulwama attack that took the lives of 40 paramilitary soldiers, India once again has a knee-jerk reaction to the situation, blaming Pakistan for the heinous act. What has followed is a BJP narrative laden with war-mongering agenda that has been immediately bought by the pain-wrecked nation. This is just the tip of the iceberg, here’s how Modi has been complicit in mishandling or shall we say exploiting Pulwama attack further.

Pushing the Indian nation into war-frenzy…

Contrary to Modi’s reiteration of Pakistan’s involvement in the attack, the investigation carried out so far states that local Indian ammunition was used by the conspirators. Also, there’s no need to emphasize more that the suicide bomber was himself a resident of Indian occupied Kashmir. Therefore, all these findings render the accusations baseless.

However, playing around with war-mongering like it’s a child’s play, irresponsible Modi has rallied the entire country in war chants without sufficient evidence of Pakistan’s link to the attack.

Inciting India’s entertainment and sports industry… 

So much war hysteria has been created that even the entertainment and sports industry of India has had to step away from anything Pakistani in order to give their proof of patriotism. This level of escalation is beyond comprehension! 

Again, without much evidence, India has also taken back the MFN status from Pakistan in the lieu of the Pulwama attack. Thus, bringing the two countries on the brink of war based on insinuations only!

The case of Balochistan and Indian sponsored insurgencies in Pakistan!

India’s involvement in supporting anti-state elements in Balochistan has been pretty obvious in the last few years. Despite this, each time Pakistan’s FC Jawans are killed in an attack, Islamabad shows restraint and does not indulge in outright hate and war-mongering. 

Indian media in overdrive!

In the light of Pulwama attack, India’s news media houses have been influenced to sell Modi’s hate narrative excessively. In doing so many reputable electronic and print media outlets are losing the track and publishing either morphed images or pictures of people already dead as the mastermind of the attack.

Targetting Kashmiris! 

As an aftermath of the attack, Kashmiris are being targetted all across India which includes businesses and students as well.

It’s the decade long brutalities carried out Indian armed forces and human rights abuses at the hand of establishment that has kept the flame of insurgency alive in Kashmir.

If India continues or (as it seems right now) even intensifies the persecution of Kashmiris, it will only fuel the subsistence of the insurgency.

Pre-Election Political Point-Scoring!

One factor that must not be ruled out from the entire scenario is the upcoming Indian general elections and Modi’s desperate attempt to make it a point to bag another tenure.

However, Modi needs to understand, before its too late, that creating a war-like situation is not the answer to winning elections. Such strategies will only backfire in the long run!
