Karachi Kings it seems have decided to enter the mega event with plenty of changes. Earlier, they had replaced Imad Wasim with Babar Azam as the skipper of the franchise and now they have replaced Herschelle Gibbs with Peter Moores. Moores who is England’s former head coach has also been in news for a while now as multiple media houses have reported his name as a candidate for the post of Pakistan’s next head coach.

The 58 year old after his appointment said, “It’s so exciting to be able to come and join the Karachi family. I can’t wait to get stuck in, it’s known to be one of the best tournaments worldwide because of the strength of the local talent. It’s something I can’t wait to get involved with. The fact it’s being played in Pakistan makes it even better – the traditions, the passion – and we’re going to try to play some really exciting, aggressive cricket.”

PCB have demoted a number of senior players from the Platinum to the Diamond category just before the draft. The move apparently suggests that perhaps the board has decided to discourage old guns in order to ensure more young people find a place during the annual tournament. Those demoted include Shahid Afridi, Shoaib Malik, Kamran Akmal, Mohammad Hafeez and Mohammad Amir. Â
