Sarfaraz Ahmed
PSL 5 provides a perfect platform especially, to former skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed, who has been out reckoning for a while now. The wicket-keeper batsman leads Quetta Gladiators and therefore, he is in a pretty decent position to choose a batting number for himself where he is confident of producing a few big knocks. Also, the tournament gives him an ideal opportunity to showcase his talent, form and fitness behind the stumps. Thus, expect Sarfaraz to come down hard during the mega event in an effort to reclaim his lost position at the international level.
Mohd. Amir
Misbah-ul-Haq led selection committee discarded pacer Mohd. Amir apparently, because he had decided to retire from Test cricket. So, PSL 5 is where Mohd. Amir should be looking to vent his frustration. A few good performances from the 27 year old are likely to result in him regaining his spot in Pakistan’s ODI and T20 elevens.

Fakhar Zaman
Fakhar Zaman will be representing Lahore Qalandars again and the opening batsman has some serious work to do during the tournament in order to get back into Pakistan’s T20 squad. The 29 year old has been in ordinary form for a while now and hence, it is no surprise that he lost his place in Pakistan’s squad that was announced for the series against Bangladesh. PSL then, is where he needs to fire to stage a comeback at the international level.

Sharjeel Khan
Sharjeel Khan will represent Karachi Kings and this should be the first major tournament for the south-paw ever since his spot-fixing ban. Pakistan is in need of a solid opening batsman to partner skipper Babar Azam (who will also represent Karachi Kings) and thus, PSL 5 provides an ideal opportunity to Sharjeel Khan to reorganize and uplift his international career.
