The #ODI world cup is about two months away. Pakistan have been granted permission by their government to feature in the prestigious tournament. Moreover, Pakistan will also play an ODI series against Afghanistan and #AsiaCup23 prior to the event. So, with world cricket’s complete focus on one day cricket, here is a look at eleven players who are likely to play for Pakistan on a regular basis this year.

So, What’s Pakistan’s Best Possible #ODI Batting Line
Frankly, the answer to this question is what the country’s think-tank will be looking for prior to the world cup. Fakhar Zaman, Imam-ul-Haq and skipper, Babar Azam occupy the top three slots on a regular basis. Going forward, it is generally expected that Mohd. Rizwan, Iftikhar Ahmed and Salman Ali Agha will bat at the number four, five and six positions. Nevertheless, Pakistan needs to figure out if Rizwan is better suited at the number four position or if he can be more productive down the order at five or six.

Shadab And Nawaz Likely To Lead The Spin Bowling Department
Both Shadab and Nawaz are expected to fill the spin bowling all-rounder’s position during the world cup. Pakistan could also have tried Imad Wasim however, it seems it is highly unlikely that he will be considered in the ODI format at least till the world cup.

Fast Bowlers
Fast bowling is one area that seems sorted out. Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf feature regularly in Pakistan’s while ball elevens. It is also worth mentioning here, that despite picking up early wickets, the green shirts have disappointed on more than one occasion during the death overs and so, Zaman Khan might also be considered if the top three pacers don’t deliver on a consistent basis.
